Welcome
I'm a conservation genetics Ph.D student at Queen's University, Belfast. I primarily work on the conservation genetics of brown trout, but my research interest are much more general. I am particularly interested in the effects that life history variation has on metapopulation dynamics. Salmonids serve as an interesting model, with which to address such questions. The variability that they exhibit in migratory behaviour etc. leads to difference in gene flow reqimes among sub-populations, thus influencing metapopulation processes, which have implications for conservation and management. I am also interested in the influences of life history variation on populations' ability to rapidly adapt to heterogenous environments.
I am in the market for a Post-doc, so if you know anyone suitable who's hiring, please let me know. To get a better idea of the kind of research I'm into, my CV can be downloaded below.
